MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL?

Hmmmm...Do you feel older than your age? Do you feel that things in your life are wildly out of balance and that you have no control? How can you start to take control back?

First question you need to answer is "how much sleep are you getting every night?" As we age the amount of brain and body repairing REM sleep decreases. Some of us need more sleep than others. On average 8 hours is the recommended amount of sleep. This becomes more important as we undergo brain stress from life and work. Rest is important to fight those mental and physical battles as it gives us time to recharge and rebuild.
Oh no..let me guess... you have trouble sleeping at night and you toss and turn often waking up more tired than when you went to bed. Regular exercise is a possible solution. You should allow at least 3 hours between exercise and bed time for your body to calm down. Also most importantly your bed is for only two things...Sex and Sleeping! Nothing else! No TV, video games, reading or eating in your bed. These are bad habits that can and will confuse your mind and body when you go to bed.

Use it or lose it! A wise saying indeed. We need to keep active. Muscle tissue loses flexibility as we get older. Running faster and longer was much easier in our 20s. Now it requires more effort. A daily 5 to 10 minute stretching routine can preserve or increase our body's range of motion. This stretching routine can go a long way to reducing injuries as we get older. The same applies to the brain. Every week we must try something new. Get out of our routine. Try new music. Try a new restaurant. Try to come up with new work strategies. A new book. A new hiking trail. Learning a new language or skill. Creative thinking stimulates your brain and strengthens it against aging.

Last but not least proper nutrition and grooming is essential! It's incredible how great it feels when we get compliments. A new haircut, weight loss and we feel like a million dollars when our friends notice. Proper grooming can help us look young. Sunscreen and skin moisturizers can reduce skin damage as we age. Nutrition filled with lots of anti-oxidants, omega-3 and WATER...lots of water.
Add them all up and most likely you will look and feel younger...and guess what...your sex life will most likely increase! A totally fun win-win-win! All you have to do is ignore the birthday candles and take back control of your life!
